Carlos, you’re absolutely right I should have annealed that photo etch first. I’ll try that on the second piece!
Martin, thank you so much, you’re very kind, I enjoyed following your recent project and look forward to more!

Brilliant work Bruce! That does make a significant difference and will enhance this kit even more.
I have annealed brass, nickel and copper photo-etch and it does work well to make the metal more malleable. Just don't overdo it; I usually stop once the metal changes color. Practice on a spare piece as different metals react differently to the heat.

Thank you, Duke! Very good tip about practicing first. This etch on the used market is as much as a kit so I want to be safe.

Without measuring, the red line looks like the spot for the instrument panel and the orange line demarcates where the gun butts end. Much closer with that last measurement than before.

I was also thinking since I have so little time at the moment to build this that at least the Copper State Models and Tom’s Model Works resin/photo etch detailing kits are specifically for the kit. What’s slowed me the most are the modifications I am making myself. I know I’ll have to open the upper cowling and add the missing front half of the opening/entrance for the pilot, the fit is really rough there from the kit part, so fabrication is on the table.

It's not the destination, it's the journey Bruce - it takes as long as it takes.

Bruce, just to go back to the start, is this a Camel or Snipe?
