Work is progressing on the Hawk - so far I've got the fuselage together.
The cockpit is pretty basic - just a peg and a seat and a flat bit for an IP. I did spend a while with some plastic card over the weekend trying to come up with something but in the end I just decided to go with what I had - the canopy is so thick that not a lot can been seen anyway. Besides, I was a bit worried about screwing this one up. This is quite a rare kit these days, and I've already scrapped one years ago trying to fit a resin cockpit into it - these days I'd rather just move on and have fun with building it!
I've painted up an IP and some sidewall detail so it looks like something is in there. It looks pretty shocking but actually looks quite acceptable through the clear. I've used liquid gravity and superglue for the nose weight.
It'll do - there's plenty of modifications to do on the outside anyway.

I can certainly understand the fears of making a mistake on a rare kit. Hang with it Stuart. Looking good so far and I'm looking forward to more....

Thanks Joe! It'll be pretty slow now until my donor kit turns up, but I'm hoping it'll look ok when done.

I had a similar issue building a Snap Tite X-Wing for my buddy Bryan. You might consider total removal of the Airfix panel lines and let the airframe shape take focus. It’s our way of seeing, which can be redirected. Apologies that I have no photos at hand of the X-Wing.

Way to go Stuart! And you've learned a great lesson: just have fun building it. Whatever you did already looks great. Looking forward to seeing more.

One of the advantages of being in North Wales is seeing these coming and going from RAF Valley.
I've also seen quite a lot of Tucano's and some RAF helicopters flying about.

If nobody minds and as I'm about a month behind and want to get the mojo running - I might chuck in a part started build into this GB as well (no issues if anyone else wants to do the same).
