Joe, I share your enthusiasm about this kit. If you put it in a Tamyia box nobody would note it!
Have the same one somewhere around, seeing your fantastic work makes me jealous! Will for sure have a look at your Käfer (bug) when doing mine. Top job, really!

Got alot of stuff done to this one in the last week that finally all came together enough for an update. Windows are installed along with a lot of knick knacks on the body like tail lights , headlights, rearview mirror and little stuff like that. I was finally able to install the chassis into the body and mount up some tire/ wheel assemblies for it as well so she's on wheels now.
The only real shortcoming I've found with this kit is in the windshield fit. Man......after all the good fortune I've had with it I found the Achilles heel in this model. The windshield.....good Lord the windshield. Make damn sure you test fit the crap out of it because you're going to have to sand the living daylights out of it to get it to fit right. I beat mine into shape but it was sure tough.

It's looking darn good! Looks like you got the windshield taken care of very well, I don't see any evidence left of you having to sand it.

Yeah, looks like it's shown completely deflected. That's sometimes the case when the kit manufacturer took its measurements on a museum car on posts.
