So, are you thinking of a hatch and the removable canopy?

Duke! You rock, and I need to get back to checking on your projects. Any news on St Crispin? Gents! There is no fuselage hatch on the “Z” model. The removable canopy has side sections which bolt to the fuselage. Drawings and the replicas confirm this. The R1 has this feature. In my next post, I will show you what I think are the modifications for this correction.



I am thinking open canopy, standing figure in period flight suit, bare headed, no goggles or helmet. There is a fella in the UK who sells WWI aviation figures exclusively; I want to touch base him for ideas. Any figure suggestions for usage would be greatly appreciated! After watching the video I would love to add a highly detailed P&R Wasp. Somebody stop me.

This is approximately what will be removed. I am going to shorten the depth a bit. I think the depth is off.



Maybe that?

My bad, I didn't read that this was a "Z" version. As far as your cut goes, I'd go with something closer to in between the red and blue areas.

No worries, I did not know and I am building it. That is on me. Thanks for your advice! Looks like the reproduction has a resized depth. There are three reference photos. Two are original and match the drawing as well as the kit.



I think I am going to go with your recommendation or just go with the kit sizing to avoid a rescribe of the front paneling. Wait a minute. After staring at this canopy piece I realize that it lays over the fuselage. The fuselage area is smaller underneath to accommodate the bolts so I cannot follow the existing area outline; I have to leave enough material for the piece to bolt over top.

Wish I could offer more than just encouragement to keep going on this one Bruce but this is a unknown area for me.
