This kit came with two canopy versions: open and closed. Spent a good hour or so masking the closed canopy. What a nightmare. Very little score marks to really get a bead on where to mask the framework for paint. All I have left to mask is the front windscreen but will airbrush the front section transparent blue first before proceeding forward.

Nicely done! Sometimes it takes some sort of mistake to bring our techniques to the next level.

That is true, John. Sometimes you’ve got to take that jump and test yourself. It was a challenge for me and I’m glad I did it. I’ve always love to take on a challenge dealing with problems in a model kit. Keeps me sane from real life problems.

Transparent blue on!
Next, mask the clear blue windscreen to get ready for paint.

Nice looking build. Not seen one of these fujimi Phantoms being built.

So far the Fujimi kit hasn't given me any fit issues. I did come across a 1/48 scale Phantom kit that looked similar to the British "Firebirds" but in different color scheme. I'm thinking of picking two of this one.
It's on backorder at Scalehobbyist.

That looks a nice scheme. I know what you mean about the stencils. I've built the Airfix FG.1 and got 2 more different boxings in the stash. I couldn't believe how many stencils there are.
