I am indeed back from hols, when I get five minutes I'll take some more shots for you - although the light is pants at the moment, I have got it out of my display cabinet.

Personally I don't mind rubber band tracks. I think I cut off the location tabs as well, and just superglued the tracks into place. One thing I do do was add a lot of liquid gravity into the hull before I sealed it up - to give it a bit of weight and improve the 'sit' of the model.

Adding weight to the hull was exactly what I was considering at this stage, and you hit the nail on the head when you gave your reason! Yes. The sit of the model is definitely affected by the actual weight. I think this is why I remember when you filled in the openings at the bottom. You used plastic card I think, followed by white putty (Perfect Putty?).

It was Revell basic filler I think, rather than Perfect Plastic Putty - but yes that's what I did.

That’s smart. I may have to add some plastic card inside so the weight doesn’t pop out my Milliput. May have to. I wasn’t planning to add weight when I filled the holes. I’ll continue in my overkill mode whenever the results are worth it. In this case, I think achieving a better stance is worth it. Thanks again for following along and your input.

Two annoying dimples which need to be filled (circled areas).

I have not really decided about the tracks. I have two sets of kit tracks. I was planning to try various mud affects with the AK range to the point of overkill, kind of the same approach we take with a painting mule. I create a mental list of key items that are focal points and attempt to build up those areas. The tank barrel didn’t cut it. If I could have found a machine gun also in metal I probably would have swapped that out as well. I don’t know the type of machine gun used (I should try Wikipedia, that’s usually where armament lists are easily found). My only concession to added detail was drilling out the opening.

Drilling out the MG is a good idea I agree - I did it on mine.
