Certainly looks like a "cats head" worthy build.

@JimD - ahh, the angles! I know right? I think I got a little anxious after applying the Tamiya Extra Thin, I might have, sorta-maybe snapped the actual attachment point - all good now but I think I'll be reinforcing with a bit of CA. If nothing else I've matched the angles between the two kits now!
Thanks Bsyamato - I'm down to small bits & pieces now, should have them wrapped up on the weekend.
Goose!! I assume you'll be attending the awards ceremony?

Alright, keeping with the theme that "any work is better than no work", some progress from last night.
You ever get the landing gear just right on a kit, leave it for a few hours, then knock the thing sideways as you're packing up your temporary workspace?? Uhh, yeah, me either... But, I think I've recovered it, will need to back up the joins with some strategically placed CA though. The Hasegawa kit (white16) as of last night:
Annnnnd the Academy kit (red13) on it's legs. Uhh... shoes and pants and final colour to be added shortly.
So, the Tamiya canopy from the spares box painted up well.
And after I confirmed it looked good, i chopped up the other canopy, removed the armour plate/headrest...

P38jl to the RESCUE!!! With the appropriate size+style of swastika for Red13. Decal was carefully brought up to room temperature, bathed in warm Canadian water, applied carefully & soaked down with MicroSol:
Also applied decals to the main gear bay covers on White 16. Arrived home later than planned last night, so any progress was a positive.
