No problem! You may want to slightly polish the existing dash with a bit of paint remover then a buffing cloth before adding gray to the dash. That will give you a reduction of the intensity of your painted colors and a smoothly prepared surface for your gray. Just thoughts is all. I’m not a fan of detail painting per se, so I will work in layers and glazes.

Don’t have polishing cloths, per se. I have sone 2500 grit sand paper and some 0000 steel wool. That will “polish” just about anything. Like your thoughts on this.

You can add a glaze of gray over the entire surface of the dash, then clear the gray from the edges of the speedo, radio buttons and trim with a small brush. Let dry and add more gray in a glaze until you have a nice layered finish!!

Hmmm...that cold work. Sure be easier than repainting all of it.

Looking very good Lyle!

I love the dashboard!

Perhaps a light oil wash to accentuate those wonderful details the dashboard has?

(I hope it is ok Lyle that I adjusted the whitebalance, my sort of neurosis..)

Don’t get your hopes up too much. Not too happy with it. Paint seems too heavy even though it was thinned about half.

This happens to me a lot with the first glaze. Depending on what type of paint (acrylics or enamels) you could do a light rub down with a soft cloth wet well with thinner and redo.

Good ol’ life has interrupted things. May get back to it in the morning.
