Love that idea!

Talking of soviets - here are some that I have on the bench.

The first is Zvesda's 1/72 Mig-21BIS 'Fishbed-L'.

This is the first Zvesda kit I've built and so far I'm really impressed. I've just put the wings on so this weekend will involve a little filling and sanding.

Next up is Airfix's OLD (1967) Mig-21 'Fishbed C'.

Again I'm really enjoying this kit and it's coming together well. I'm just in the process of adding a basic cockpit to the empty hole that was there before.

Last of all I have this old MB kit on the bench.

This is were I was this morning although I have since done some filling.

I also have this awaiting bench time...

I'm hoping that all of these will be quickish builds as I want to get back to my Mirage - that'll teach me to sign up for a load of GB's all at once.

Cheers!

Been wanting to have another crack at a MiG jet after the Revell kit went in the bin. Hated that Revell kit.

No. It was 1/48 scale. I believe it was the MiG 21M

Ah ok that one. The old Airfix kit's not too bad considering it was tooled in 1967 - I just started it with low expectations.

Oh the memories you brought back!! I built that ancient Airfix kit; in fact, I built a couple of them. One was made a Soviet bird; the other under MPC boxing I made the Israeli captured version. I never built the Matchbox Hurricane but seeing that two-tone colored plastic just made me grin like a Cheshire cat. I did build the little Humber and you are in for a treat. That was a fast and fun model to build.

I still have my Humber.

The Revell 1/48 Mig-21 is a PF or PFL (export). It’s a simplified scaled down kit based off of their older 1/32 kit.

Yeah.... something like that. Wasn't sure if it was the PF or M.

Mig-21M has the side opening canopy introduced of the PFM. It also has a second hardpoint under each wing, twin 23mm belly gunpack, and an enlarged fuselage spine.
