Hey! Looking good! Are you going to brush paint the exterior as well??

Thanks Bruce. No brush painting on the exterior. White, especially acrylics, is way to much of a bear to hand brush nicely. I will be setting up my airbrush to do the external colors.

Nice! I was wondering about brush painting since the cockpit was painted so well with brushes. You are definitely right about white - brush painting white acrylic is tough. Thanks for the explanation.

The cockpit is easy with brushes. Grays, blacks, and greens usually give great one coat coverage. I have yet to find a white acrylic (at least since Polly S went away) that gives proper one coat coverage with a brush. Especially with any of the brushes that I seem to find nowadays. As it stands right now, it takes too many coats to get a good white base handbrushed. Especially on larger areas such as the surfaces of a 1/48 or larger scale aircraft.

Similar to painting the white exteriors of most “2001 ASO” spaceships, you have to use what will work best. Look forward to your next moves.

Thanks Stuart. Just a bit of time sanding, drilling, and filing. I suppose that since I used kit sprue, it still counts as “out of the box”
