Here's the funny thing about that. So they're the exact same kit right? One of them had a ton of flash and has fought me all the way. The other had no flash and has been much easier. Go figure.

All part of the fun - are they the same style boxing?

Incredible work to date, Mike. I was going to ask on FB how your wife did at the fair this weekend? Frustrating differences in fit between the two kits, though. Maybe as Stuart was about to suggest these are from very different production runs. Basically you’re building one early run that fits and one later run that doesn’t quite want to fit without a lot of finesse work. Which one will be the Tophatters and which is VFA-151?

Interesting to hear the differences between two copies of the same kit. I agree with Bruce's guess that the good one was from an earlier run when the molds were fresh and the flashy one is from later. I'm probably too late to chime in about the seat belts but how about applying the decals on top of the molded details? Not sure if they are in the same configuration but I thought I'd toss out that idea. It occurred to me since that is essentially what I'm doing with cockpit panels on the 262 build.

Thanks for asking Bruce. She did better than last year and considering everything that's going on, I'd say it was a great show.
As for the Super Bugs, they're definitely not from the same production run and that's what I figured. I have decided which jet will be which squadron as of yet. One will be configured for air-to-air and the other for strike.
John, I hadn't thought about the decals over the molded on detail. I'll have to look at that closer.

Both with the outer wings on. Gotta do some clean up, sanding and filling now before adding the tails.

And they look great, too! It’s nice to see these two with their wings on. That is always a favorite moment of mine along the way, during a build. I dunno why, I just enjoy it. And I enjoyed seeing that photo! Nice job so far my man!

Looking great! So odd that one kit is giving you so many fit issues.
