Color looks spot on to me. Use a 1mm Molotow chrome pen on the lettering.

Thanks! I just showed to Pam and she said that was it. So, score one for me!

A 1 mm pen and a bottle of bourbon!

Thought I'd finish wet sanding the body (of the car) this morning. Then I saw two small places on the hood that I managed to sand through the blue. Oh well. I'll hit that again in a bit.

I am extremely happy with the paint on this and will stop at this point...as soon as I repaint the hood. The MCW paint is a joy to use.

Well, not sure how long that finish will last! This is the fit of the rear body panel. It is too tall, too wide and somewhat poorly shaped to fit precisely in the opening.

So, I took a rear panel from a spare kit, did some trimming across the top and sides.

Still fine tuning the fit, but it is much more bettererer

But, I do have questions.
1) Should I have left it as in the original and somehow filled the huge gap? Still would have needed to trim the sides.
2) Miliput to fill what is left?

Copious amounts of masking to protect what is for me the best car finish I've ever done.

Fire off a PM to Joe. Maybe he can advise you. Is the first image of the rear panel from the kit?

I’m looking in scalemates of your Mustang kit. Can’t tell since your images of the box cover was removed. Which kit is it? Perhaps a kit stock number would help.

Anyhow, from one instruction guide, there is a panel for the rear tail lights that has to be installed first. My guess that panel has a notch of sorts to go underneath the rear portion of trunk.

Did she own the Mach 1? If so, the MUSTANG needs to sanded off the truck base according the instruction guide in Step 7. Not sure if this was the right kit you’re working on.

I think it's supposed to slip under the trunk deck - recessed.
