Bruce, I have not commented before this thread, but this is so cool and very interesting! I have always been thinking about these started kits and how to build them really as a starter!

Page 3. Assembly of wings to fuselage completed. There are probably gaps. My girlfriend is now in town so with apologies to all I will need your patience. It may be some time before I post again this year. It has been a wild ride to get to this point both with the model and with my life, but I am sure everyone here understands that when someone you hold close to your heart becomes a part of your world your world changes. I’ll be in touch.

Wow, this is magnificent! Better than I could do at this stage!

Now go enjoy time with your girlfriend; you earned it. While your work is a thrill to look at, we can wait as family friends and people in general come first.

Here are the two pieces together. I had a little trouble making the fit work. The fuselage is slightly too narrow when constructed the way I chose to do it, by building out the cowling around the engine ring, which Airfix makes one of the last instructions. I did not agree with that decision on their part as building around the engine plug created a natural jig for the cowling sections and improved the overall appearance.

Also I used Humbrol #154 when I should have used the lighter color gray which is included. In that case, I followed Airfix’s instructions when I should have followed my instinct. The wheel well should not be the same color as the cockpit.
