Thank you so much.
I'm finishing the Hase MiG-27. It's not the flashiest kit of theirs, and it almost seems like a side project just to say they have a 27 in their inventory, but it's aa nice easy, not a lot of detail to be concerned about kit.
I have a few more things to do like a little dot filtering, attaching the gear and doors and attaching the weapons and tank...then done.
I'm back to working on the 1/48 F-35 but need to replace the rivet detail that was sanded off during wing join filler. It's a very small detail and probably shouldn't even be there being a stealth, but I want to match the rest of the kit. And I want to complete the USS Freedom LCS I got for Christmas. Then I can finally start on the IJN Takao which I may bring to the 22 Nats.
Actually what do you guys think? Work hard building the Takao with a ton of PE in 11 months or just go with something less intimidating like a 1/72 Sunderland, 72nd Walrus, 72nd B-17 and or possibly 48 F-16? Any of which may not stand a chance at a show.

I suppose doing them all is not an option, huh?
The Sunderland.

Considering how long it took to build the Akagi, probably not. But, the Takao doesn't have 36 planes and wouldn't have over 300 people.
I agree with the Sunderland. I may work on all of the above and just bring what I finish.

Well, your ship building is truly epic! The “everything else” is too!

I got all the vents, capstans, cable reels and bollards attached. There were a lot. I used the kits cable reels because they were well done. The reel bases are a little thick but the reel details are better than I could achieve with PE reels.
My plan is displaying it as she probably looked during the second naval battle of Guadalcanal on Nov 14th 1942. The Takao, her sister Atago and the battlecruiser Kirishima, light cruiser Nagara and six DD's battled the Washington and South Carolina and four DD's. The Takao was the only heavy to escape damage. Her guns will be facing port and port torpedo tubes run out.
Next is assembling the torpedo tubes and the 01 deck amidships.
