Nice work on your builds! I have so many going right now it's insane, even for me.

I'm having a little issue with that seam although it's nothing to worry about, I've dealt with worse. I'm out of Vallejo putty at the moment and am using Tamiya putty. The difference it the Tamiya is lacquer based and Vallejo, Acrylic. I'm sure someone will correct me but you know what I mean. Tamiya is more difficult to remove than Vallejo....but it holds better. I filled the little areas that needed it and started on the deck. I sprayed Tamiya deck tan first and cut masking tape strips to cover random planks. My next coat will be a slightly darker deck tan, rinse and repeat. Eventually I should end up with planks with a tonal variation. Then mask off all the wood and spray the grey.

The Bismarck was new and the turrets were repainted four, maybe five times. The weathering will be more on the streaking side caused by the salt spray with no rust.
At the point I'm portraying it, it will have been running the Denmark strait and had not yet engaged the Norfolk.

I just spent the last 2 days reading this one thread, and may I say that was anything BUT a waste of time.
You sir, have talent beyond the scope of the word "talent" can hope to describe. Absolutely incredible work, I am more than impressed.
Also, that Mig Every since I watched Top Gun, variable wing sweep has been my secret love affair.

Thank you very much for the kind words. It wasn't until I joined a few forums that I was able to achieve the level (still very low) I am able to do now. The fine folks on these and a few other forums have helped me immensely with history and techniques. There is always something new that can be learned.
I'm at Newport Oregon until Wed for our summer vaca and went to the air museum in Tillamook. There they have an F-14 from Top Gun, which of course I took copious pictures of. I have a 14 in every scale, except 32nd and really look forward to building one when I get an opportunity to concentrate on it.

As a child of the 70s and 80s, I can assure you that just like pop up headlights, ANY aircraft with a swing-wing is instantly the coolest.

That is fantastic! I would love to visit there sometime to see the Tomcat.
I did the f14 in 1/72, I think by Hasegawa. Loved it, and I really need to make another one.

I love pop up headlights too! And yes, anything that has moving wings ultimately is superior XD

Do I sense a Tomcat GB? Maybe for next year?

Why limit to just F-14 Tomcats? Why not broaden your choices to other carrier based aircrafts. Why not a Carrier Based Aircraft Group Build instead?

Or a swing-wing build
