Hey Carlos... probably too late for this one since you've already got paint on her but...

Have you ever run Tamiya Extra Thin cement lightly onto your scribe lines? It's a good way of cleaning up the burrs/roughness after the fine sanding.

John, I sure have not tired that, let alone heard of that before. I usually just run a fine sanding stick over my scribe work to remove the stuff. I will have to try out your suggestion on my next scribing project. Thank you for the tip! And for the kind words about the colors. It is a very attractive scheme I think.

After work last night I decided to go with some gel CA as filler to clean up the chin scoop seam. This morning after I got up and got going, I went straight to work on sanding. A few minutes of wet sanding from coarse to fine and all cleaned up.



Then I prepped the airbrush and paint and did touch ups on the RLM 78 Blau on the chin scoop and along the fuselage sides.... especially over the wings and on the supercharger intake scoop... much better now











After giving that time to dry, I began removing the masking tape...





and in direct sunlight...



I'm really liking this now....

In your research, why does this particular aircraft not have a yellow bib? I have been studying color profiles since you started which means I know very little in actuality, lol, but still... was there a particular reason why this was done?

Stuart and Bruce, thank you. Would you guys believe that I actually had the time to airbrush in the Future coat after posting the last photos? I actually did! But not enough time to take any more photos before work. And now I won't be home again until after midnite tomorrow due to work... ah well...

Bruce, the reasons for no yellow chin are: first and foremost, the marking sheet for the decals do not show that feature, and I could not find a certain photo of this particular aircraft to say one way or the other; I don't trust profile paintings unless there is a photo to back it up; I searched every way I could think of to find JG-27 and 5. JG-27 Me-109F photos and it seems that some did, and some did not have this marking-interpreting black and white photos show that yellow had low contrast to RLM 78 Blau, and only a bit more than RLM 79 Braun, just look at the photos of Marseille's Yellow 14; White was the theater ID color for Axis aircraft in the Med, yellow was the color used in Western Europe and on the Eastern Front, units that transferred and served in between those areas often carried both colors though.

One of my favorite 109 schemes alongside the Abbeville Emil's . Can't wait to see all those decals get added on so she's all proper like

Thanks Mike. There are not too many decals to add. After the national insignia, it's just the unit badge, gruppe hash mark, aircraft number, and some victory tally marks. This one will be pretty simple...

Bruce, you ask anything you like regarding any builds of mine. I am more than happy to answer your questions. As time goes on, I tend to get more into the image research for my builds. Sometimes to the point of really delaying the project if I obsess over some detail and let it derail my momentum.
