Carlos, that is pretty close to what I plan myself. I do still have a bit of Maker's Mark left....
Thanks Bruce! That was a cool clip. I don't believe I ever saw that movie in it's entirety.

Some more Grand Theft Auto players at SPAM?
Man, looking at those pics (also that of Bruce' car) gives me wanderlust. I have to visit the states one day. Just to check out if it really exists.

Seventies version of L.A. aka the Bukowski
https://www.kcet.org/shows/artbound/cha ... n-of-poems
There is a Bukowski tour of downtown Los Angeles. Everything here is marketed to an extant. What is wonderful is to find a moment in places where those who live here are simply living their lives without the tinsel, unadorned.
I was sitting outside on a hill where I live watching the sunset. There is nothing quite like a sunset in Los Angeles. Even those hurrying from parking garage to parking garage will stop and... take a picture. It’s best seen in person and experienced.

Oh there is plenty of tinsel unadorned lives around here my friend. I guess I see too much of it at times myself...
But yes, it’s great to pause and watch life, or nature, go on around you. Years ago when I worked Marina Del Rey, a very slow assignment, my partner and I would get cigars and drive up to the Fox Hills oil fields to smoke them in the late afternoon between calls. You could watch the planes fly in to LAX, see the city around you, see the wildlife running around the hills (yes there were actually foxes there) and enjoy a whole Corona or Churchill stogie on those days.

Thanks for the great comments, stories and links guys. Yeah, LA area can be a great place to live. And Carlos is right, I certainly have no tinsel in my life! LOL!
It's been a tough week for the bench. I got a new, much larger storage unto and have been in the process of moving things into it so I can see what else I have in this house. Especially the hobby room. I am hoping to get more put away soon so I can get started again with a less crowded room. Stay tuned, more to come.
BTW, Stuart: after all the moving, I found an MPC C-130 Hercules bird in the stash. Let me know when you want to get started on our dual build.

I'd like to visit California myself. The missus and my son wants to visit Hollywood and LA. Me? I'd like to go to San Diego. Now to live in California? Nope. Don't want to deal with the stress of driving in LA's freeways. LOL!! I'd rather deal with the crazy drivers in the snowy winters of NY instead. You get plenty of action and stupidity during the winter months.

Yeah we do drive 55+ mph in snow....

Kinda gives the old mantra of "Hold my coffee and watch this" in a whole new different level.... I may be crazy, but I'm sure am not stupid.

Well Blacksheep, if you do come visit, I'll be happy to show you around. And as a long-term resident, I know just how to avoid most of the freeway hassles here. In fact, I rarely if ever get into it during rush hour.
San Diego is beautiful, but expensive. The Midway is certainly something you do need to see though.
Just let me know when you decide to come out. Who knows, if there's a model show or contest at that time, I can bring you there too!
