Well, the wings are on. Fit was tolerable okay. Dumbly (?) enough, I fogot to put any CA on the wing stiffeners inside the wings. Friction should be enough to provide the support I want. Saw a YouTube video on a build. What a waste of time, so I thought I'd link it here. This guy is a doofus. The entire six minutes or so is of him babbling and spinning the model on a stand. Looks to be about the right amount of putty, though.



Anyway, I digress or judging from the sounds in the guy, digest.....







Actually broke out the dust mask...cough. Now, where was I? Oh yeah, more filler (with a lighter touch) and more sanding. Let the games begin.

Wow Lyle any more putty in that and you would need to bust out the belt sander. All this hard work will pay off in the end.

Hey, you’re doing great work here and I’m stoked for you that you’ve reached the milestone of attaching the wings! That’s fantastic! She’s taking shape, and I admire the effort you’ve put into the construction, and your skill as a builder.

Thank you, Kenny. I'm trying and so far, it has been pretty easy to stay upbeat about this one. There may not be a ton of molded detail left, but …...

Keep at it Lyle! Tough builds are like training at altitude. Once we drop down to a better kit, modeling will seem that much easier.

Loved your description of the video! "The entire six minutes or so is of him babbling..." That seems to aptly describe most of the modeling videos I come across.

Sad state of affairs. Yep....I'm down to dabbing Mr. Dissolved Putty on anything I can see on the T-50 to keep from tackling the masking. Oh, the rear side windows popped out again. I've now tried plastic glue, CA and white glue....Guess it is screws and tape next.

Bruce, thanks for that link. I did download the images and they may be helpful in creating masks.....I told you I am desperate.

In a manner of speaking. The shape of the drawing does not match the shape of the part, so....wah, wah, wah.

I have taken a bit of advice from a great guy, though. Okay, I have been talking to myself. Anyway, we agree that masking indifivual frames and then painting them may be the easiest way. The scribing marks on the parts are almost flush with the part, so there is nothing to use with a toothpick, etc. Pics later.

I don't envy you though - I hardly ever do any masking these days as I hate it with a passion.

I am using this tape...Not what I really wanted, but it seems pretty good. More of a vinyl material so it "bends" easily.



Here we are. Using a toothpick, clean of course, dipped in 91% isy (yes, we have nicknames. Don't judge me)





Probably about done for the day. Knees are really stiff today and the wife has a sleep study session tonight. I may do more then....but, nah.
