I’m happy to hear that you had a change of heart on this kit. And also that you and your missus sorted things out. The hike was a great way to get the endorphins flowing and set a pleasant frame of mind.

Yeah the hike worked wonders. To be honest, it was nothing I did particularly - I just think she'd had a lot of stress and anger bottled up (mainly thanks to the events of this year) and needed to let it out. Being a typical husband I just happened to say the wrong thing at precisely the wrong time and BOOM!!! It wasn't quite a 'does my arse look big in this?' moment but it wasn't far off!

I managed to cool he down though, and I knew the walk would do her good - to the extent when she said she didn't want to go. I told her she was going if I had to throw her over my shoulder and take her there in the trunk of the car! As I suspected her mood lifted after a few miles. I have to say that 99.9% of the time we're a pretty tight couple, and I love her to bits, but you know how it is with marriages - you don't spend 20 years with someone without the odd dust up! Hell, life would probably be boring.

I am glad it renewed my interest in this build though.

There are no apologies necessary at least from my perspective. It is I who should apologize to you, Stuart. I think I took a back seat to following your build, when at the very least I could have added more useful information about the aircraft which I spent months studying and will always be studying in order to understand better how the aircraft was designed.

Your new subject choice - like Old Crow - is one of my favorite schemes. Wonderful choice.

I got mine out to check the fit of the tail for you.

Cool! I'd be interested to se if the original fileted tail fits better, or if your fuselage is twisted.

Ok so here it is dry fitted together. Granted there is nothing on the inside that should be but it doesn't look that bad. And with glue a lot of the gaps you see would not be there.

Now see that looks a far far better fit than the unfilleted tail, I'd have been happy with that.

That's the tail that the instructions call for. There is another tail in the kit.

Yeah I noticed that - I/we think it's a slightly different tail to represent the ones that were retrofitted in the field.

I guess that skew on the tail fin was designed into the kit. Looks weird though.
