Also a pilot: Born in Waconia, Minnesota, Herbert was a general science and English major at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse (then called La Crosse State Teachers College) who was interested in drama. Thanks for the info on Herbert. A pilot? I knew I liked him.

Oh and by the by for any fans of spray cans, the cowling was painted GK Surface Primer Black with a color coat of Tamiya TS-14 Black. I use this on trains a lot because it’s one hell of a combination. Very, very strong adhesion. I don’t know how to do this either by decanting or with an airbrush yet, but I would assume it is possible, Another advantage of TS Series is that it is multimedia - you can use Enamel as well as acrylics on top for detail work.



There was no polishing involved over the primer. That is as cured after painting. Ditto the TS-14. That lacquer “hugs” plastic better than cotton in a wet T-shirt contest.
