I believe it to be #2923. There are notchs, locating pins or any lip on the body, nor on the pane. The tail lights mount flush to the panel. I’ll get the exact info in the morning. I see no way to mount this panel behind, and I did play with that option.

She has a plain Mustang, not a Mach 1 or a Boss 302, although we are sure it had a 302 in it.

Yes. And the yellow one was the same.

And, yeah, those instructions are similar, but a bit different. Mostly in how it is presented I think. The more I look at this repsentation, I’m starting to think it may go behind the trunk lid. That would explain the beveled edges.

No mods to the body were done and the kit panel is intact. So.....

Okay, it goes inside. Found definitive pics to corroborate keavdog’s picture. I sure do feel silly...

It happens to all of us. I glued the rear valance on my austin healey, layed down a beautiful paint job, and found out I couldn't get the chassis in. Had to carefully break it loose, clean it up, put the chassis in, reglue it, then touch it up

Good to hear. It happens to all of us in one form or another. Those pesky “ah ha” moments sure know how to sneak up on ya.

I suppose. At least I saved the kit part and did no mark to the body...

Finally tot the rear window frame "chromed"...sheesh.
