That Spit is coming along very well Stuart. Fortunately those landing gear legs are pretty short so they should endure the rest of the build process.

Thanks Chris. Thankfully they're pretty solid so (touch wood) there shouldn't be any issues. I have, stupidly, snapped off the Antenna mast though... I'm really not sure why I thought it was a good idea to fit it.

Ah yes… a rather well photographed squadron in the Battle of Britain

This is still progressing nicely - I've finished the decalling and top coat. I've had to do a bit of tidy up of the clear parts after removing the tape, but it's all done now and I've just assembled the prop and exhausts ready for painting.

Pic's to follow, but I'm not really that far off finishing.

I'm about 99.99999% there now. Wheels are on, props on etc etc. All I've got to do is add some lights, paint the nav lights, fit the antenna wire, fit the pitot and finish and fit the exhausts. I'm not going to do any weathering as a tribute to John as he didn't do much of that either. I might do my usual thing of putting a wash on the u/c and around the flying controls to give them some definition.

I went with 610 (County of Chester) sqn as Chester is were I go when I need a taste of England - it's about a 40 min drive from me. It's a great place to walk around and the county itself is really pretty.

Nice! One of my bucket list travels is to visit England some point after I retire. I'dlove to spend a summer visiting there, especially to Wales, Scotland, Ireland, attend some of the famous air shows you get and visit the White Cliffs of Dover.

London would be a great city to visit but I've always wanted to head out to the countryside and visit smaller villages to experience the English culture.

Got room for 3 extra people to stay at your flat, Stuart?

Likewise Tom, I'd love to visit the US one day and tour around for a bit, visit the sites and some of the small towns too - Also I've always fancied seeing the Pacific.

Well finish number #2 for John's GB - I hope he would have liked it and approved of the blue background.

Tamiya 1/48 Supermarine Spitfire mk.Ia - which I finished this morning. Just some taster shots for now, I'll see if I get some better ones over the next few days.
