My latest acquisition is our new Ford Ranger STX 4x4. We bought it a week ago and are still getting used to it and accustomed to it's features. It's quite a change from our old 2002 Ford F-150 FX4, too.

And at our son, Carson's, home on Sunday, after installing the side-steps:

A new one for me  (I've been good over the last few weeks and sold off over 30 kits)

It's a new tooling from Gecko - looks to be a really nice moulding.

Thanks, Stuart and Chris! I hope it gives us as much good service as that 2002 F-150 has! We bought that used in 2005 and have had great luck with it so far. Hoping the new Ford does as well. We have already cursed Ford for cheaping out and not having a driver's side hand hold, though. Man, that is much needed and a great thorn in the side of Ranger owners apparently (from a cursory examination of a Ranger forum!).

The newest Ranger is a nice looking truck. But being a Toyota fan, I do like the Tacoma myself - especially the 4 door version.
I now own a Hyundai Kona - which I absolutely hate because during the pandemic, there wasn’t much to choose from in new cars & trucks then. Had traded in a 2013 Ford Escape I did enjoy owning for the Kona. Once my Kona is paid off, I will trade it in for something I really want. I do like the look of the new Chevy Blazer too. I’ll probably get. A Tacoma this time around when the time is right.

I owned a Tacoma once and loved it. Had to trade it in for the Toyota Matrix since back then when my wife was carrying our first child. The Matrix was a fun car to drive. Too bad they discontinued them.

TJ, it has a 2.3 turbocharged DOHC four-cylinder with 270 HP. I suspect that's a higher horsepower rating than our 2002 F-150 had when new with its 5.4 V8. The Ranger really is quick, I imagine the 3.73 rear-end helps.

Thanks. Yeah, we considered the Tacoma. Heaven knows they have a great reputation, but currently they seem to have fallen a bit behind both the Ranger and the Chevy Colorado. Our only beef right now with our Ranger is Ford cheaping out and not providing a driver's side grab handle up front. One has to grab the steering wheel in order to pull up from the side steps.

I picked up this beast last Friday at work.

Even without the full interior, this is a high parts count kit…

Nice beast! Cool box art! Looks good!

Hey anyone know why we are using the unusual spelling for our title here? The Spelling Police are curious.

ac·qui·si·tion
noun
plural noun: acquisitions
1.
an asset or object bought or obtained, typically by a library or museum.
"the legacy will be used for new acquisitions"
