SPA Modeler

One of lots of kits under work but not yet posted.

Started about a month ago.
Almost correct kit with some difficulty to build propertly.

Box'n'sprues









Kits invluded the american version and cut wing tips version but i'll go with the boxart version

First step cleaned the cockpit and glued nose parts for better fuselage fitting



filling walls with some structure



ready for paint, cylinders went from the kate or sonia...





original seat and cockpit



aluminium stripes on rudder pedals



glued more pieces and added rear details



IP is good too, only added some hole and scratchbuilded a new thinner side acces door



gunsight added with an extension and a new square glass (not the one in picture... after i'll show it )



Removed original wells and thinned the borders



tried to add a grill to the larger radiator inner



A plastic strip to close the upper air intake hole



added walls and new structures to new wells







And glued wings



The kit also included two versions of propeller , these ones are for the british version



Starting to paint with italeri acrylics







And finished with drybrush and washings













And before to glue fuselages







After i glued the gunsight forward because was too close to the cloche





And glued main pieces





After three layers of azure 89 and white



Three layers of darkened humbrol 94 and two layers od 29 brown



And the actual state with three layers of humbrol 29





Cut out original gears compass and scratchbuilded new ones



And painted with wheels

That is amazing! Beautifully done.

That's totally amazing work on what I've heard is an old dog of a kit. The interior scratch building is as good as ever, as is the painting!

My work is 3d modeller for architects ... PC renderings i do

Virtually and not modelling all the day

Nice work in progress Silvio. I particularly like the transformation of the cockpit's interior from nothing to "something" with all the strips and gizmo. it looks convincing!
