In the early days of navy jets there was a fighter, build with wings like a P-51 straight with no angle, the FJ-1. It was similar to the P-80 of the USAF, than the air force became the F-86 with the angled wings has a greater performance and the the navy and marines introduced a version FJ-2 and with more differences the FJ-3. The FJ-4 based on this but it was a realy different navy aircraft, not a retrofit usaf version.
:blah: time for plastic..

WOW - A nice collection of models showing the develpment of a pretty cool looking aircraft, and some sweet builds to boot.

Anything in Gull Grey over White gets my vote, but I really like the middle one with the yellow wings. - that's a really nice bit of work. (Did the kit come with the option of wing fold?)

I've built up quite a collection of USN kits in the stash, but I don't have a fury - that'll have to change!

That were the times when US and Russian planes looked quite similar. The books say that the Soviets were on the reproducing side. But hey, the winner writes the history, right?

As always a very neat collection you show here, Cherry. And like portman I'm digging the wingfolt!

Ol "14 UF" gets my vote, too! Unusual to be sure.

thanks again, no wing folding in the kit parts, but with a saw, some useless airwaves PE Parts (the are only flat without any hinge arms) and little bit scratch you can fold them, the idee was to show the different ways to fold on the evolution versions.

If you dont have a fury in you stash, you should chance this, so much colors, so much versions...

No Matchbox 1/48 Fury kit? I am kinda partial to the Marine gray & white one myself.

I've just been given a Grand Phoneix kit of this aircraft :dancing: - though I hear it has it's issues :ballbat:

So I shall use your builds as inspiration!

Cheers

Stuart!
