With the Hydra on hold...awaiting decals :bored: ...I started a pair of 190's.

1/72 Hasegawa and Airfix.
Got ahead of myself with the Hase kit and forgot to take progress pics. Used an old Eduard PE set on it....major PITA...CA has very little effect on that stuff!

The Airfix kit (my 3rd go at this one) gets a PE set from Brengun, along with the left over flap bits from the old Eduard set(for Hase kit). This one will be marked as an A-8 "Yellow 12" with extra armor!

Image

The pit, with a little help from Brengun (nice set BTW...a bit stiff, but decent none the less!). IP has the acetate film thatchya sammich in there.

The kits main gears are fully extended, I removed the very end(where wheels mount, and attached em to new scratched gears (aluminum/brass tubing)...I did an extra pair while I was at it, for another Airfix kit, to be built later)

Image

The Airfix kit really does not lend itself easily, to dropping the flaps. The whole flap is molded solid with the top of the wing...I carved most of it away, then broke out a grinding bit and sandpaper for the rest. The flap itself is sheet styrene with the PE piece.

Image

PE ammo chutes...nothing in the kit for these...just empty holes.

And...the Hase kit, as it stands now...
It will end up as an A-6 "Yellow 1"...looking like a porcupine!

Basically like this...but a YELLOW 1...

Love the gear and flaps. Does CA go bad? There are times it will not grab anything but skin.

It's a fairly new bottle...and worked fine on everything else. I had to scuff up the back of the PE and attachment area on plastic with sandpaper to give the CA some grip...it helped a bit.
