This is my first airliner I've done. This was also my first attempt at using Alclad products. They were used on the leading edges and the engine nacelles and exhaust areas of the 787.




Thanks for looking. The only thing that isnt shown in these pictures that is different is that I have added the landing gear. I'm currently working on a display base for this.

Thanks again Jim! This was definitely a challenge. I had never applied a full glossy white coat before and have to admit that it took awhile. I started by using Krylon white primer and laying down multiple, light coats of that, sanding with 2000 grit wet/dry in between. And did the same with the white and grey. I had never tackled one of these before, because, as you pointed out, lots of glossy work to get it to look right. I will be doing another. I am waiting for the 777 to come out from Zvezda.

Love the civies. I have not tackled one for basically the same reasons you mentioned. Getting an itch.

Spot on finishes. My goodness that is nice.

Same here. You showed a lot of patience and talent to nail that kind of glossy finish. I also like the lines of this airliner. Zvezda's doing good work, like you.

Seeing that build- I can't help but remember all those AURORA airliner kits from the 1960s

Did all of those pesky little wheels touch the table when you added the landing gear?
I seem to recall some AURORA kits having a problem with that.

Great job too. The finish is very good. Smooth and polished just like it should be.

You say that - but have you ever taken a good look at an Airliner up close? they're a mess generally. Especially the short haul birds.

And a great build by the way - I too love the finish - it looks great! (much better then the 737 i had a go at last year..)

Ditto on that, the Easyjet 737 and A319 can be quite dirty.

But I do admire a flawless paintjob like on this 787.
