'Easy Eight' Sherman tank Re-issue

Post by BlackSheep214 »

I got this in an email this morning from Internet Hobbies.

http://www.internethobbies.com/asmo1usshm4e.html

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this a re-issue of the Tamiya kit being released by Asuka Models?
Funny this kit does not include Storage box, helmet and antenna. What's the point of the re-issue if you can't include an antenna?

And for anybody who is wondering, the Tasca/Asuka 1/35 Sherman kits are reputed to be the best Sherman kits in that scale. :DI:
Not to mention that they don't have those infernal Dragon instruction sheets that you have to question every step in case of error :headslap: Not that the Dragon Shermans are bad, these are just better. :lashed:

Yup, I have an original Dragon and later Dragon "Smart Kit" E8 Shermans in my stash and I know what you mean. Metal tubing and springs in the Smart Kit re tooled bogies is certainly overengineering in my book. Not to mention the track center guide teeth are individual pieces to be added to each link... yikes! Makes for great looking OOB detail and accuracy, but I think I'll go buggy from the suspension alone whenever I do tackle mine... :Beaver:

The guys here at AMPS who are Shermaholics and have built the Tasca kits have nothing but praise for them. :dogwag:

The Tamiya Easy Eight Sherman kit has been on my wish list for some time now. If I see one, I won't hesitate to pick one up.

:tank: Asuka is about to release the Tasca mold easy-eight with all the gear to reproduce the "Fury" tank of movie fame for about the same price as the Tamiya kit, which is also Tasca mold... :lashed:

What are the two types of model buyers/builders? The quick and the dead... I mean empty handed... :giggles:
