Just got this one wrapped up.

Looks like this will be my last finished build for a while...work season starts up on Thursday, and I'll be workin 50-60 hrs a week, which will put me about two months behind on getting all the other crap I need to get done.

Kit itself was decent. The decals were, in fact, the WORST I have ever dealt with. They may as well have been 983 year old paper...they just crumbled. So, I ordered a set from "Authentic Decals" (for same a/c)...these were the second worst decals I have ever had the misfortune of using. 1st decal crumbled (shark mouth for drop tank)...so I sprayed a clear gloss over the rest, which helped...a little. Overall...the two worst decal experiences I've ever had, and I've had plenty of bad ones! I ended up having to mask and paint the tail.

Nice, Fermis tooks leave with a great quarterscale build. Heard a lot of good things about the AFV Club F-5, but nobody complained about the decals so far. Good to know.
You seem to sail round those issues skillfully. Love the Kyokujitsuki on the tail!

Have a pleasent time at work and come back to the bench soon.

:bye:

Heeeey, its a Sundowners F-5! Looks very familiar, a club mate is building the very same one atm. Great build here - as always. ;)

I remember seeing one in the background of a pic you posted some time ago!
I actually bought this kit (and decals) to do a Canadian F-5...but the Canadian version is an F-5B, so I just went with the kit markings...bought a Kinetic F-5B that even had the decals I wanted.

Wow! Masked and painted the tail? Looks way better than any decal. Wish I could've warned you about the Authentic decals. I used some on a Yak 3 and it wasn't pretty. All I here about them is crap, so it's not just me.
