Over a hundred members and no motorcycle built yet. About time to fill that gap. :hmm:

This is my first try on anything with wheels since Germany had a king. I only heard high praises about Tamiya's bike range and I've seen builds that let my jaw drop on the ground (our member Red Roo done his part on that).

Since I'm an AMS strucked guy I ordered two detail sets to increase the fiddlyness of this kit in higher dimensions:
  • Hobby Design Detail-up Set
  • Tamiya Front Fork Set

Some of the sheets don't even have links. The parts simply stick on a foil. Best stuff we've ever seen.

First pe parts found their way on the engine block

This electronic box is made of 21 pe parts. It replaces the kit part below. The sandwich-wise assembly was eased by two parallel holes in each part that allowed a proper alignment

Footrest fenders also substituted by pe. Rivets to be added

Yowser, that is tiny stuff. 21, huh? I'd have glued them into one block.

1st Update :writing:

Used the easter holidays to tackle the chain, made of pe and really tiny bolts. A total of 198 parts... :what:
When stuck in one of the chain halfes, the bolts had an excess end where later on the outer plates are to be attached. Had to play around with some cardboard to even out the excess and to prevent the bolts from falling out of their holes. My glue applicator (a sewing needle in its first life) made it easier to apply very small amounts of super glue

Along this madness some work on the gear and the exhaust was done

Switching between three projects at the moment, one of them a scheduled birthday present.
But there is progress on all fronts.

A fistful of steel (ok, mostly aluminium)
