I completed these builds a couple of years back. Two Type VII U-Boats in 1/350 scale: the Hobbyboss Type VII A and the Revell Germany Type VII C

The Hobbyboss Type VIIA is done as U-29, killer of HMS Courageous at the outbreak of WWII, and I weathered her in a "colder" water style from her patrol that claimed that flat top.

and Revell Germany's Type VIIC is built as U-81, killer of HMS Ark Royal in late 1941 while operating in the Med. I made the weathering more "warm water" with greener marine growth on the hull,as she may have appeared at the end of that patrol.

Good to have those builds back again, Stik! I had no idea the Kriegsmarine had some camouflage depending of the environment.
Live and learn!

I am no expert on the subject. But what I have learned is that there were various camouflage schemes used, and it tended to vary by theater of operations.

Medic, thank you, I'm glad that you like them!

Shark, yes, my cabinets are full of my work from the past 30+ years, but many are older buids when my skills were not so good as now.

For a Type VII, around 200mm long... not big at all...
