1/72 me 262 hgIII

hello ,
here is a creation I made using two kits . the inspiration came from a site that I visit where the person
used the Antares conversion on a 1/48 dragon kit. I used the 1/72 mpm me 262 A2a/U2 bomber nose version
(because that's what was on hand ) , for the fuselage and cockpit parts, and the special hobby me 262 three seat night fighter
for the engine nacelles, and wings. i made it a recon bird using a resin arba reece nose that i had in the stash. i cut the fin off the fuse and used a thinned down bomb for the rear of the fuselage, then used the stabs from the special hobby kit to make the butterfly tail .
the hardest part was the main gear bay. i cut out the bay openings from the mpm kit and repositioned them and made them into a panel.
the tough part was fitting them in between the engine nacelles. it seems they worked similar to a p 40 where the wheels rotate 90 degrees and were to retract forward into the fuse. the photo etch gear doors provided in the mpm kit were also used . no putty was used , it is all super glue and pieces of plastic to fill any gaps and lots of sanding. it was challenging and i almost gave up a couple of times.
for the paint i thought about the lozenge type used in the early days and the splinter type used later and kinda combined the two.
the under side was hand brushed because the camo was an experiment and i was happy with the result and didn't want to risk overspray.
i had fun doing the camo and decided to employ this method on the ho 229 i built after this was done (posted earlier). the plane came out better than i expected. the only thing i don't like is the main landing gear legs are a little too long and she sits a little high. maybe fix someday.

had a baby! Really cool WIF and great execution. I don't think I could even wrap my head around how to even begin such a project.
