I am sure someone wrote earlier this week a post of some TV program / DVD telling about sinken treasures outside the coast of Normandy.
Cannot not find it anylonger, would have continued in that thread...
Well anyhow, I visited May 2004 the coast of Normandy , visiting museums, Omaha beaches etc. One museum that was really impressing was the museum Musee des Epaves
Here is a brief collection of stuff that has been "picked off" the ocean bed. These are on the courtyard of the museum. No pictures from inside, as it was not allowed to take any pictures inside the museum. An old lady made that clear for everyone, no language barriers there! :-)
Would really want to return to Normandy one day.
It's an amazing place, so much to see.
And the paradox is, that if I would jump in the car, it would take without any traffic - jams or other unexpected delays... only 4 hrs !
But still... seems those 4 hrs are too long.. or I am too lazy... Nevertheless, one day, one day...

Re: Museum in Normandy
I mentioned the DVD but I have heard of the Normandy Museum as well. It has been a dream of mine (and my sister as well) to take a trip to Normandy. We are both WW2 junkies. I know we both want to take the Band of Brothers tour. Someday.....

There is a lot to see and to do in Normandy. Loads of museums on every corner. Same goes for the Ardennes. Fortunately they are not that far for me (6 hours by car) so I have been there a couple of times.

Re: Museum in Normandy
Nice! I so badly want to travel to Normandy one day. My old radio car partner went there in the late 90s, and knowing that I had been a paratrooper, sent me a post card from Ste Mere Eglise of a mannequin representing PFC Steele of The Longest Day fame dangling in a parachute harness from the church steeple. I still have that postcard. One day...
