Airfix had the wing guns protruding like that, I guess? I wonder how you would have manage to keep them intact during the build process.

I usually break them off and cuss a bit. Not sure how Portman will handle it.

So far it's down to luck - I hate moulded on gun barrels and I know I'll knock on off at some point!

And guess what... :headslap: thanksfully I've got it back on again.

I've made a little bit of progress on this - I've started painting the pilot and I have started to fill the damage caused by Airfix's overly large sprue gates.

Times been a bit limited of late, but just to show I'm still working on this...

There's been a bit of a change of plan though - rather than a Desert Airforce scheme this will be built in a late war 'daylight fighter' green/grey scheme, marked as a Bomber Training unit aircraft.

This reason for this is that over the hols I found my cat alseep on my modelling tray and more importantly on top of my P-40. Having removed her I found the tail broken, the antenna post snapped and the wing guns had gone completely - hence the change of scheme as it doesn't require them.

Cheers

She must have enjoyed lying on the Tomahawk, probably rubbing her back, some itchy spots against those antennas and guns... :-)

Looking forward to the build Stuart!

Cats are funny critters. Scatter some empty boxes around.

No longer a Desert Tiger - more of a late war ETO run-a-bout...

Getting there!

Cheers
