Fw-189 Uhu in 1/72

Old Airfix, 1/72; Built OOB, there was quite a bit of sanding involved to get everything lined up. Its a shame about all those raised rivets!

I used this kit more as a canvas to practice some airbrushing. The main camo was airbrushed and then I applied the squiggles with a fine tip paintbrush. Decals came from the spares bin, as the originals were old and crusty...

Cool retro box, though!

yah! The -189s had some fun schemes to choose from. I based this scheme off a pic I found:

Owl, you have become a real fine modeler in your own right. BZ

Superb work Owl – that’s a really good build of an old ‘Classic’ kit (I’ll say ‘Classic’ as I like the old stuff – other might call it a ‘Dog’ :dogwag: ) and those markings look great.

As you said in another thread that you were using it as painting practice…
And have asked for comments …
And if I had to be really picky…
…The only thing I’d mention is that your panel line wash on the underside has shown up a couple of areas where you’ve lost some panel line detail – and I only noticed as mine are normally awful! – but considering what you started with its hardly worth mentioning.

But other than that I think it’s a really solid bit of work, can’t fault the painting as it’s much better than mine and looks great. the squiggles look super.

I agree with Paul in that you’re become a really fine modeller – Well done.

Cheers

Stuart

Thanks Stuart!

I cant argue with ya about the panel lines. Most of what was on the original plastic was raised rivets, so I had to guess where all the lines were supposed to be. :FM:

Yeah I've seen the kit :yikes: - you did a very good job of re-scribing it.
