Hi all,

I was really inspired by Owl and Duke and their great Bearcats, so I also started to build my Bearcat.

Image

Indeed, a simple little kit, I guess will use all-in-all 21 pieces, skipping the bombs and rockets.
Image

Simpel kit which opens great possibilities in scratchbuilding a la Owl, Bsy and Fermis to mention some of the masters around here..

The work started by glueing the two wing-pieces together.. Which also acts as the fundament of the cockpit (as Owl also clearly showed in her build)
Image

I started then improving the pit, using different sizes of Evergreens styrene strips. Took though some time before
I reached this stage.. Studying carefully the pics on the internet but also using Owls great cockpit as a reference and Montys 1:48 Bearcat build that seems to be "on-hold" at this moment of time.

Image

The seat looked very "thin", so I added some more "flesh" into it..
Image

And making sure everything fits..
Image

And into the paintbooth.. The IP panel comes from my previous build, the Hellcat, however cutted and reduced pretty heavily
Image

From another angle..

So, pretty satisfied with the quickbuild so far.. Need to struggle with the Carpet-monster that seems to have taken the control stick....

Next steps to close the fuselage, fill the gaps, sanding and into the paintbooth..

A tiny update, just to keep this build alive...

Wings attached and masking of the canopy done, glued into the fuselage... HUGE gaps that needs to be filled with even more transparent glue.

And here she is, waiting to be delivered to the paint-booth...

Coming right along very quickly. Well done.
I'm reminded by your photos, that when building these retro-kits, one might need to work on a cutting mat placed upon a larger cutting mat. Due to all that doctoring and filling that's usually required.

Very good! I was going to mention the spotchy paint, until I saw you hadn't done the final paint yet. Quite a build and fun to watch.
