1/48 Testors (Hawk) Yokosuka MXY7 Ohka

I built this as part of a couple of GBs over on FSM (Weekend Madness 2015 & Japanese GB Pt. IV). Unfortunately for the WM GB, I did not have 48 hours free in the time span so this took a bit longer to complete. although it was completed with less than 48 hours at the bench. I added a good amount of scratch work to the cockpit, as well as a few other details here and there such as on the pitot tube and warhead fuse. The kit ID number decals shattered, so I had to scrounge some out of my decal bin. Paints are Tamiya, based upon some good color photos I found on various sites.

Now that is cool Stik! A one-way ticket to paradise for the driver eh? The last one of those kits I remember seeing was at King's Hobby in Austin, quite a few years ago. Man, I wish I had bought one then. Sometimes I'm such a cheapskate!

You did a fine job on that flying bomb. :shoutout:
Am I imagining things or did Testors once have it and the V-1 in the same box?

Thanks Tex. Yes it was a one way ride for the driver. Guaranteed entry into the Yasukuni Shrine for him. This is the perfect kit for a cheapskate like us :hmm: Yes it came with a V-1 that I also built. But I need to go back and do some accuracy corrections. I had a lot of fun dressing this one up.

That is a nice build Stik!

I guess Stik you need now to build a nice diorama "around" this Ohka, in other words a nice 1:48 Betty standing next to this fellow...

What an odd looking thing. Never seen that kit build before.

Well done Stik, I'm sure it was a fun in between project.

Nice! Those single-use containers are cool...unless you are the contained.

Yes it is a nice kit for an oldie. And it certainly has a very unique look and appeal to it.

Hah! But yes, that would be a cool looking diorama. I do have the Tamiya Betty in my stash... :hmm:

It was a fun in between project. A fun little diversion to get my motivation going again.

Very very true. But when one is raised to believe that dying for the country and Emperor is the highest honor, that sort of thinking is not going to happen.

Thank you all for the kind words and feedback. This was a fun little build in spite of the few usual bumps in the road along the way. I got to do plenty of scratch work inside, and some on the outside too. I think that I have more fun that way.
