This kit was built OOB, save for replacing the kit Sidewinders with the proper variant for my particular build, the AIM-9D, and I added a little scratch built detail in the wingfold. Decals are Cutting Edge for the mount of Lt Cdr Dick Bellinger off USS Oriskany, VF-162, "The Hunters", in which he achieved the first USN Mig-21 kill of the Vietnam War in 1966.

A beautiful build of a somehow less known Crusader plane.
The cockpit looks really nice, decaling fine also!

Thank you sir, I am glad that you like it. Although the Crusader has been eclipsed by later designs, she has never truly been replaced. The last true air superiority single seat fighter jet built for the US Navy. Everything else after was twin seat, multi role, or a combination of the two.

Bravo on an outstanding build of an outstanding subject. I can't say I like the "modern era" jets very much. They all sort of look alike to me. These guys had character!
