Holy Crap! That look simply awesome! Yeah, the black background does make the details pop out better.

Damn fine job on the penny, too! The black seems to work pretty good. Amazing detail so far.

Mr. Lincoln looks impressed. Me too!
A black backdrop is great to let details pop more out, but it's absorbing a lot of light, too. A stronger light or a longer exposure time can compansate that effect. Don't get me wrong, your pics are good, but a bit on the dark side (ugh, damn SW again...).

I just use my cell phone for pics, then I can upload directly to P/B.
Black background and the flash seems to get the best resluts for what I have.
It did make the pits look kinda purple though.

I take a guess here: it´s an Eduard kit so the engine could be included in the kit as seen on the pictures. Knowing Fermis a little bit he surely has added a lot of plumbing and hoses to the kit parts.
@ Fermis: the front gear box should be black, not blue...
