A fellow member of my IPMS chapter asked me if I was interested in doing a build review for our club. Delighted by the trust shown to me by a senior member I jumped at the opportunity!

this is a re-boxing of an older Hasegawa kit with new decals included - but an old simplified kit with fancy decals does not warrant a $30+ price tag...

The cockpit is only detailed by decals, which is "OK" for a closed canopy build but anyone seeking further details would best opt for an aftermarket replacement.

Personal matters and a second job interfered a lot with this build, but im happy to finally have 'er DONE!

I always thought that only the P-47 was called "Razorback"? Didn´t know this of the A-10...

Owl, it may be an old kit. But you did a very good job on giving it live by all those colours used! It really looks like a well used "Bbbbrrrrrtttt..."

"Razorback" refers to the mascot of the 188th Wing ANG stationed at Fort Smith, Arkansas. Here is their squadron badge:

Love this Owl!! One of the few modern aircraft that I really enjoy-used to get buzzed by them all the time while camping in the Adirondacks while they did NOE maneuvers...

Jeeves, your story reminds me of one told to me by my mother. One day while an A-10 unit was visiting Eglin AFB for an exercise, the Air Force approached a bunch of boat owners in a local town to take to their boats and act as "targets" for the A-10's. They were thrilled to do this and took up the challenge to make those A-10 drivers work hard as they made mock firing runs on those guys in their boats. I heard the Air Force then invited them all on base for a party with the pilots and a tour to look at the planes that tried to "shoot" them up.

Man, I would have loved to have been one of them!

She's a looker Owl! Well done! Actually, Thomas the Razorback only refers to the canopy style - hence the P-47 Thunderbolt before the Bubbletop canopy came out. The Mig-3 and Yak-1 also had razorback type canopy.
