I stopped by my LHS the other day and came across a Minicraft 1/72 scale B-24M "Mama Foo Foo" Burma Theatre Liberator kit. The box cover also states it's rare due to the only accurate M version of the B-24 Liberator kit made. I forget how much it was but wondered if this kit is worth picking up considering it's a B-24M Liberator kit.
This is the kit:

As there is no review of this box posted on SCM it´s hard to tell if it would be worth a buy.

How much does the shop want for the kit? In my experience, Minicraft kits are not quite as sharp as the Academy kits, but they are not terrible either. If you really want an M, and it is the only game in town in 1/72, it really becomes a choice of are you willing to pay the asking price?

I "think" he was asking about $35-$40 range. Maybe $45.

That does seem a bit high to me but I still would like to see you get that one going.

Yikes... prices nowadays...

Minicraft does have a high MSRP for the past few years...

I know I picked up their 1/48 F4U-5N when it first came out, and it was reasonably priced. But nowadays it has at least doubled...

Hmm thought I saw it on Scalemates.
https://www.scalemates.com/kits/180335- ... ma-foo-foo. But true, no review.
Well.... some of the online stores had it in the high $ 20.00's back when.
List may have been $ 35.00. I'd offer him that.

I picked up a minicraft B-24 some years ago...I wanna say it was around 20 bucks, and pretty well worth it. Panel lines were decent (recessed) and overall a good build. I'd pay $20-25 again.....$40's??? no thanks, but that's just me. I do not recall having any complaints.

I had looked in scalemates site hoping to find a review but came up no cigar. Based on the history of it on that site, it's a rebox of Academy. I'll have to take another look-see on the price he's asking for.

Stopped by the hobby shop out of curiosity. It's priced for $33.95.
