I figured I'd share my latest build and one of my favorites, Der Gableshwantz Teufel, or "fork tailed devil", the P-38 Lightning. It's the Hasegawa J variant in 20th FG Richard Loehnert's "California Cutie" markings. Loehnert flew 70 combat missions and would claim two Bf-109s on July 7th 1944. Aside from a set of photoetch seatbelts and Quickboost guns. The Hasegawa kit is notoriously difficult, which was complicated on this one as the plastic was warped. I'm still pleased with it.

Thanks for looking...

I think you should be pleased with it - that's a superb looking P-38. The finish is excellent - what did you use for the weathering?

The base is also great - Adds a nice touch.

Cheers!

Thanks! It's a lightened shade of the base color streaked to simluate condensation streaking. It then got a post shade in the panel lines with diluted red brown black mix and finally a Flory wash.

Good stuff - it worked well - it looks nicely weathered without being ott.

Man, that looks spot on! I echo what the others have said. Simply a masterpiece of weathering. . . and construction. You is good.

WOUUH !

What an outstanding build of a truly great aircraft ! I just simply love it!

Really gives me not only ideas and but also goals how I want my own P-38 to look like (at least in my imagination at this moment)

I've only heard horror stories about these kits. Yours looks like it was a walk-in-the-park build.

Again a masterclass finish and a pleasing kit/base composition.
