I picked up 3 Revell Microwings kit at a flea market at Kingsday (yes, we still have a king. And we have a national holiday for that). These are ancient moulds but I had fun building a 1/144 Hurricane so I bought them anyway for € 1,- a piece.

This is going to be a quicky build. I am not going to scratch build an interior And wil probably brush paint it. Only modification is going to be to open up the intake. That is just a flat piece!

Fast and dirty! What intake do you plan to open? This is no jet, yes?

The large radiator intake under the propeller. It is closed!
For such a prominent feature it is unacceptable.

Not good. At least those intakes should have some depth.

Interesting, have been intrigued by these cheap, tiny, simple kits but have never seen one built, even less as a WIP.

Will follow of pure curiosity...

To be brutally honest, these are dated and bad kits. If you want to builds something nice in 1/144 buy Platz, Sweet or Eduard.
As I understand Revell had problems with sells this batch of Microwings so they ended up at a big discount drugstore (Action) for a euro a piece.

Here is a pics of the Hurricane is build. The shape is weird in a lot of places. Just take a look at the oversized spinner.

Your fingers make clear how tiny even a fuselage in this scale is. The more it is remarkable that you could open this ultra-tiny radiator inlet...

These are old Crown kits. And are the type of kits that gave 1/144 a bad reputation.
As said, newer 1/144 kits like those from Sweet or Revells modern jets are much better.
I just build this when I am in a bit of a slump. These kits are so bad that even my lazy brush painting (I am no BsYamato with a brush) won't matter.
