"Go ahead and build something, already!"

Organize a group build and see who is wanting to participate here.

"Go ahead and build something, already!"

Post by LyleW »

We, as a group, seem less than enthralled with group builds...unlike another forum that in which many also participate. (like that? no dangling participle).....Anyways, since I quit building for a large part of 2016 and seem to be struggling a bit in 2017, I propose:

THE "GO AHEAD AND BUILD SOMETHING ALEADY" GROUP BUILD

It would be a GB that basically has no rules. That is the only rule.

* Any genre - SciFi, ship, boat, lawnmower, automotive, armor, airplane - civie or military, one wing, two wings, no wings (Helo), trucks, rail, small boats, figures (0-9) and dioramas. Anything

* Any material from belly button lint to resin or left over food in the fridge.

* Any scale. Yes, any scale. from . to really big

* You can use paint, glue - any type, crayons, tape, string and scissors.

* The kit can be in any state - percentage complete that is.

* Here is why. You must build

a brand new, not in the stash kit
a kit from your stash
AND finish two or more kits from your "Shelf of Doom", "Shelf of Shame" or "Shelf of Someday"

Time frame - STARTS Now, ends December 2017 or when the Cubs win another World Series.

Anyone interested?

So I have to finish four kits for this GB? In a year? That is pretty hard work for me.

Okay, maybe we can lose the new, not-from-stash kit.

Well, I do have a kit I've put off on finishing from 2 years ago....

Now look at this, Lyle has one of his brilliant moments again! :tease:

One of my modeling goals for 2017 is to finish this abandoned beauty:

I left her in 2014 with tears in my eyes, but I think she can forgive me if I tease her nicely with my brush. Airbrush that is!

koochie, koochie, koo! Mostrich, you embarrass me with the praise. No matter how accurate. Oh Lord, it is hard to be humble.

I have almost as many on the shelf as I have completed. So, why not!

How about make that a recently purchased kit, as well as an older stash dweller? Well in any case this GB sounds just my speed... :hmm:

Okay. I'm flexible that way. Brand new or recent purchase (30 days?) and one with dust from the stash.
