Started this kit some night agoand withouth take sprues pictures (i'll post later, another copy in the stash :lashed: ).
Really like the mi-8 family and this kit is well engineed to simplify the building but some mod has done :hmm:

Image

Markings wil be in Czec shark mouth of boxart

Image

What you can see from opened rear

Image

Cut rear doors to display them opened , out of the signed cut in the kit , another cut on each door is needed and remove the joint pins. Also the two pieces cockpit bulkead glued in the first picture and glued wheels and exhausts (removed inner pins )

Image

Image

Image

Image

To fit the opened door triangle, the rear seats need some trim

Image

Heres some more detail added

Image

Doors and bulkead ready for paint

Image

Windsreen houses seems too large for me, so i removed them , also glued side fuel tanks and filled all holes in the inner fuselage

Image

Image

To improve paint grip i sanded or scratch with 11# blade all frames

Image

Image

Instead of the Kp or Zvezda kit, the hobby boss have correct front windows arc, not parallel as the other two moulds

Image

Image

A dry fit test, also rotor blades are just fitted, not glued

Image

Painting inners:

Image

Image

Doors almost ready

Image

Theres no instruments printed in upper consolle, so i painted them :bag:

Image

Image

Almost done

Image

Image

At least a fire extinguisher is needed :hmm:

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

As you can see a white drybrush was done on the pieces and also a light layer of gloggy clear to protect for next step : washing.. Till now only acrilics was used , so i'll wash with humbrol enamels .

At the next! :guitar:

I never thought much of the Hip one way or another until I saw them in person on a daily basis in Bosnia. Then I became quite impressed by the machine. Big and powerful like a P-47 or Sea Fury. I will definitely follow this project!

Coming together very nicely there! :dogwag: Now that the fuselage is together it is really taking on final shape.
