Grumman F9F-5, Matchbox, 1:72, PK-124, "back to the past 1"

Hi guys,
here is my 1:72 scaled Grumman Panther in Blue Angels colors by Matchbox. It is build as in the good old days straight from the box. It is also painted by brush, the blue angels blue is a mixture of Humbrol Enamels 14 and 15.

The good old Matchbox kits! The blue colour looks spot on! The only traces of being brush painted is the silver colour. I guess this is one of the hardest colours to be painted with a hairy stick. I like the fine detail, as the lights on the outer wings!

It appears that our newest member has an affection for Matchbox kits like I do for Monogram kits.

Thank you all for the positive feedback. And yes, it is true, building those kits as I used to brings back this wonderful feelings from the good old times. Not using any extras, no endless internet research, noch rivet-counting - just having fun and getting a satisfying result. That's what it is all about. Try it.
And to be honest, I guess Matchbox met the outer shape sometimes better than some of the brandnew kits today.
