I have been off my bubble for quite a while now and have not finished ANY THING in quite while. This being one of the kits that I had started and because of missing and broken parts, messed up decals and a partial pe set that had no instructions. I pulled it down and figured why not just do it in spite of all the issues.
I actually got this done in about a week and a half. Not concerning myself with accuracy or messed up this and that I finally got it finished yesterday.

I chose to paint it OD just because. The panel lines were done with artists pitt pens a light gray was used and I think it looks pretty good if you stand about 6 feet away. Anyway, I feel pretty good about it and am kind of ready to get on to the next kit, what ever that will be I have no idea. A little victory in the fight to keep the Mojo.

Paul, I think it looks pretty good, especially for the issues that you encountered. Nice work!
I totally understand not feeling like accomplishing anything in regards to kits. I was in that "rut" for quite awhile, it did help by starting the review build of the A6M5 Zero. I also recently attended a local IPMS meeting here in the Boise area for the first time, that too has helped get my groove back, just being around a bunch of guys who enjoy this hobby as much as I do. Some of these guys are even more into it than I am, and I thought I was pretty die-hard.
Keep up the builds!

Very nice build! Whatever it takes to get and keep the mojo flowing is what you should do. And it sure looks to be working.

Beautiful modeling work. Just beautiful. Perseverance. Patience. Persistence. You exhibit all three of those qualities right here with this build. You inspired me. And I thank you. Also—thank you for the tip about using Faber Castell "Pitt" pens for paneling lines. I know you wrote that this technique looks good from six feet away but wow, I looked up close and thought it looked good even tighter than that. Bravo.

Finishing a shelf queen is always pleasing, isn't it?
This build also shows that you lost not a part of your skill set during hiatus.

Very well done, Paul. Keep 'em coming!

No complaints here. Looks fantastic. I do like the P-61 in the OD neutral grey scheme.

I used to have the old Monogram kit back in the 70s. A fun build back in my day. Well done on the P-61. :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout:
