1/32 Tamiya Corsair F4U-1A VMF-214

I figured I would drop in here and share my latest endeavor, Tamiya's big scale Corsair in the markings of VMF-214, #740, a plane often flown by Pappy Boyington. Well, I'm suddenly addicted to 1/32 scale. This could be an expensive predicament. I'm finding that because everything is bigger, it's much easier to work with. The only problem is the larger size requires more detail. On this one I used Montex masks and Eduard tires. I had some issues with wing attachment, as the joint needs reinforced, but it's other a dream detail and engineering-wise.

A few in progress pictures...
The out of the box cockpit is perfect. The supplied PE is a little thick though.

The engine ain't bad either. I wired it.

Thanks for looking....
