Nearly missed this one... Wow, these Bandai kits seem to offer loads of detail! Much better than anything I have seen so far!

What a roomy cockpit! Your last pic really shows the detail pop out!

Well, the summer has been busy but this has not been forgotten; have gotten the major assemblies together...

While it does not show up well in these photos, the solar panels were sprayed a mottled black over dark grey and then several layers of Tamyia Clear Blue was sprayed on so when the light hits them they do have a blueish tone.

I had originally used the black decal framing for the nose glass, but as I suspected it just didn't look right, so today before leaving for the Pleasure Dome....er, ah em yeah.....work that is, I removed the decal and masked off the clear piece with Bare Metal Foil and sprayed it and the display stand black. When I get home tonight it should all be dry and I can put it all together. If I feel ambitious I might go ahead and spray the base as well to get this one all finished up. Either way I should get this one all wrapped up by the weekend.

Good to see the progress on this!

Thank you!

Got the clear nose glazing unmasked and polished up after work and installed.

Now just have to put the sub-assemblies together and start painting the base.

Also started working on the base that came with the kit, just trying to make it a bit more interesting. That should be done in a couple of days.

Thanks for sharing! I might suggest some photos of this build against a plain background... poster board or a solid color bed sheet to remove the distractions from your fine build! That looks really sharp and needs to be shown off!

Yes, hopefully this will be done this weekend, and I will set up a small photo area and take some decent photos of the finished model. These are just taken as I go so to speak, while I'm working on it.
