Ok I got this back out as I can finish it in time for the model show at the end of the month. I had to put it over at the paint bench cause the A-10 is taking up all of the other side. Planning on what needs to be done next.

Some minor parts that needed painting that I missed somehow.

Embarassing — I subscribed here last August... apologies, mate. I am caught up now. Quick question: how did you paint the sword blades??

Re: Mortar Headd LED Mirage
I used the Molotow Chrome paint pen.
I should be gloss coating on Friday. I HATE gloss coating. I've never gotten the hang of it yet.

Thanks for the intel, Medic. You really mastered that pen! Looks great. I wish I could make a suggestion to help ease any concern you have about adding a gloss clear coat. I really like using Future polish for adding gloss to metallic finishes. I first read about doing this a few years back in an article by Jim Small who builds and does masters of all the recent “Space 1999” Eagles. Jim is an amazing modeler... I dunno. I wish I could offer help! What are you planning?

I haven't had good luck with Future. What PSI do you use on the airbrush?
I have Model Master Gloss that I was going to use. I Vallejo as well.

Re: Mortar Headd LED Mirage
Future / Pledge thinned 50% with alcohol or water @ 10-15 psi. I brushed it on the rocket bells of the Moonbus, sealed these in a container for a few days.
I have used Model Master, too — great choice! Go for it!!!!

First gloss coat on. I'll go over it in a few hours. It seems that I've been blasting it at to high an air pressure before. Shot this coat at 15psi and it went down smooth.
